WHO IS YOUR BOSS?
At Howard Press there is only one boss. Whether you work in the office, prep, press,
or bindery your boss remains the same. IT'S our CUSTOMER! Our CUSTOMER
is the person who pays everyone's salary and who decides whether our business has been around for twenty years,
or a hundred years --- the minute we start treating them badly, they will put us out of business.
Your boss, our CUSTOMER, has bought and will buy everything you have or will have --- all of your clothes, your home, your
car, your children's education, and your vacation. Our CUSTOMERS pay all of your bills, and they pay them in exact proportion to the way you treat them.
Those who work here may think they are working for Howard Press because we write
their paychecks --- but, you're not. You are working for the person who buys our products: our CUSTOMER. In fact, our CUSTOMERS can fire everyone in our company from the President on down, by simply spending their money
someplace else. This is one of the reasons why taking pride in the work we do is so important to all of us personally. Doing an exceptionally good job will not
just bring you satisfaction, it will help us get more CUSTOMERS, keep the ones we've got, and insure that you continue to get a paycheck from your boss.
Some of the largest companies in America had flourishing businesses only a few years
ago, are no longer in existence. They couldn't --- or didn't --- satisfy their CUSTOMER. They forgot who the boss
really was!
